Booking a Footscray taxi: what to know
The Tullamarine run from Footscray is one of the shortest from any inner suburb — usually 20 to 30 minutes on the Western Ring Road with no tolls, so the fare is lower than the same trip from the south-east.
Morning peak is the exception. Between 7am and 9am, Dynon Road, Footscray Road and the West Gate approach all back up, so allow extra time for a city or airport departure and book the night before.
Footscray Hospital and the Sunshine medical precinct are frequent destinations. MPTP-subsidised fares are accepted and wheelchair accessible vehicles can be arranged if you call rather than book online.
