Getting to Melbourne Airport from the west
The west has the shortest airport run in Melbourne. Sunshine and Keilor are 15–20 minutes to Tullamarine off-peak, Footscray around 20–25, and Werribee or Point Cook 35–45 depending on the Western Ring Road.
Because the trip is short, a fixed price is usually only marginally above the meter and removes the risk of a Ring Road delay. Give us your flight number and arrivals are tracked automatically.
Commuting into the CBD
West Gate Bridge traffic is the deciding factor. Between 7am and 9.30am inbound, a trip that takes 20 minutes at 11am can take 45. Book ahead and take the fixed price if you have a fixed start time.
Footscray, Seddon and Yarraville are close enough that a cab often beats a train once you factor in the walk at both ends, particularly with luggage or in the rain.
Local trips around the west
Highpoint Shopping Centre, Werribee Plaza, Sunshine Hospital, Footscray Hospital, Werribee Open Range Zoo, Victoria University campuses and the Wyndham and Brimbank council offices are all regular pickup and drop-off points.
Late-night runs home from Footscray and Yarraville bars are common on weekends. The night tariff is a fixed published rate rather than a surge multiplier, so a wet Saturday at 1am is priced the same as a quiet Tuesday at 1am.
