Booking a South Yarra taxi: what to know
Chapel Street empties between 1am and 3am on Friday and Saturday. If you're heading home then, book before you leave the venue and set a pickup point off the main strip — traffic is stopped along Chapel and drivers can't hold a spot.
For a morning flight, allow 45–60 minutes to Tullamarine on a weekday. Punt Road into CityLink is the usual route and it slows badly from 7am; a 6am pickup for a 9am departure is realistic.
Alfred Hospital trips are common from this area. MPTP-subsidised fares are accepted and wheelchair accessible vehicles can be allocated if you call ahead rather than booking online.
