Booking a Ringwood taxi: what to know
The airport run from Ringwood is around 42 km and the route choice matters. EastLink to the Metropolitan Ring Road avoids the city entirely; the Eastern Freeway to CityLink is shorter in distance but unreliable in peak. Both are tolled and tolls are added to the metered fare.
For a morning flight, book the pickup at least 90 minutes before you want to be at the terminal. The Eastern Freeway inbound between 7am and 9.30am is the single biggest cause of late arrivals from the outer east.
Maroondah Hospital and the surrounding clinics are regular destinations. MPTP-subsidised fares are accepted and wheelchair accessible vehicles can be arranged if you call rather than book online.
Yarra Valley winery transfers out of Ringwood are best booked as a return with a fixed price — the return leg from cellar doors is hard to fill on the spot late in the afternoon.
