Getting a cab at the MCG
Event traffic around the MCG is managed, not just busy — Brunton Avenue and parts of Wellington Parade are closed or one-way for an hour either side of major fixtures. Booking a specific pickup point on the perimeter saves far more time than waiting for a rank inside the cordon.
For AFL finals, Boxing Day Test days and stadium concerts, book your return trip when you book the outbound one. Demand across the whole inner east spikes at exactly the same minute the event ends.
