Booking a Geelong taxi: what to know
Geelong runs on early flights. If you're heading to Tullamarine for a morning departure, book the night before and allow at least 90 minutes on the road — the Princes Freeway and the West Gate approach both slow badly between 6am and 9am, and there is no realistic alternative route.
Avalon is the local option and it is a fraction of the distance. If your airline flies from Avalon, the fare difference against Tullamarine is substantial, so check your terminal before you book.
For hospital and clinic trips, MPTP-subsidised fares are accepted and wheelchair accessible vehicles can be allocated on request — call rather than book online if you need a WAT, so dispatch can confirm the vehicle.
Long-distance runs to Melbourne, Ballarat or along the Great Ocean Road are better booked as a fixed price. You know the total before you leave, and it doesn't move if the highway backs up.
