Airport to Torquay: what to know
The route runs south-west on the Princes Freeway and around Geelong on the Ring Road, so it avoids the Melbourne CBD entirely and holds up well even in weekday peak.
Summer weekends and holiday periods are the busiest on the Surf Coast Highway. Book ahead if you're arriving between Christmas and Easter, and allow extra time on the final stretch.
There is no direct public transport from the airport to Torquay โ it's a bus or SkyBus to the city, a V/Line train to Geelong, then a coach. A single taxi is far simpler with luggage or boards.
Include your flight number so we can track the arrival, and mention oversized items like surfboards or golf clubs when you book.
