Airport runs from the east
The east has the longest airport trips in metro Melbourne. Box Hill and Doncaster run 35–50 minutes to Tullamarine via the Eastern Freeway and CityLink; Ringwood and Croydon 45–65 depending on EastLink.
That distance makes the fixed price the sensible choice — it absorbs freeway delays and includes tolls, so a bad run on the Eastern does not cost you extra.
Peak-hour reality
The Eastern Freeway inbound between 7am and 9am, and outbound between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, is the single biggest variable in an eastern-suburbs fare. Add 15–25 minutes to any CBD trip in those windows.
Book the night before for early flights and take the fixed price for morning meetings. Off-peak, an eastern-suburbs meter run is straightforward and predictable.
Regular destinations
Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah Hospital, Eastland, Chadstone, Westfield Doncaster, The Glen, Deakin University Burwood and Monash Clayton are the most frequent pickup and drop-off points in the east.
Wait-and-return is available for short medical appointments so the same driver takes you home rather than starting a new booking from scratch.
