Option 1 — call the dispatch line
Calling 0421 807 027 is the fastest route for a cab you need right now. Tell us the pickup address, where you are going and how many passengers, and the nearest available driver is allocated immediately. In the inner suburbs that is usually a few minutes; in the outer growth corridors allow 10 to 20 minutes.
Calling is also how you lock in a fixed price. Ask for it before the trip starts and the number does not move, regardless of traffic.
Option 2 — book online
The online booking form suits trips planned ahead: early-morning flights, hospital appointments, school runs and event pickups. Enter the pickup and destination addresses, choose the date and time, and the fare calculator applies the correct Victorian tariff for that moment — day, peak, night or public holiday.
Pre-booking the night before is the safest choice for any flight departing before 7am, when demand across the whole metro area peaks at once.
Option 3 — walk to a rank
Every Melbourne Airport terminal has a taxi rank directly outside arrivals, and the CBD has ranks at the major stations and hotel entrances. No app, no signal and no waiting for a driver to accept — you walk out and get in.
Airport rank trips attract an airport access fee, which appears on the receipt alongside any tolls.
What to have ready
A full pickup address including the suburb, the destination, the number of passengers and any luggage, child seat or accessibility needs. For airports, add the terminal number and flight time; for hospitals and apartment complexes, name the entrance.
If you are using a Multi Purpose Taxi Program card, mention it when booking and have the card with you — it must be present at the end of the trip for the subsidy to apply.
Paying for the trip
Card, debit, mobile wallets and cash are all accepted. The card surcharge is capped and shown before you tap. Cabcharge and corporate accounts are supported, and receipts can be printed or emailed at the end of the trip.
If you want to know the cost before you book, run the trip through the Melbourne taxi fare calculator — it applies the same government-set tariffs the meter uses.
